Overview

The PriceIQ Chrome Extension ("Extension") helps users capture and import wholesale product information from supplier websites into their PriceIQ account. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data Collection

What We Collect

Authentication Tokens (Required)

• OAuth access token and refresh token from your PriceIQ account
• Stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local
• Used to authenticate API requests to your PriceIQ account

Product Screenshots (Temporary)

• Screenshot of product page when you click "Import to PriceIQ"
• Sent to OpenAI Vision API for product data extraction
• Immediately discarded after extraction (not stored)

Product Data (You Control)

• Product name, brand, price, vendor item number, vendor (extracted from screenshot)
• Location data if visible on page (city, state, zip code) for regional pricing
• Saved to your PriceIQ account database
• You can review and edit data before importing, then view or delete anytime in PriceIQ

Technical Data (Minimal)

• URL of product page being imported (for vendor detection)
• Timestamp of import (for price history)

What We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Browsing history outside of product pages
• ❌ Personal information (name, email, address)
• ❌ Payment information
• ❌ Data from non-product pages
• ❌ Mouse movements, clicks, or keystrokes
• ❌ Cookies or tracking data

How We Use Data

Authentication Tokens

• Stored locally in your browser (encrypted by Chrome)
• Used only to authenticate your API requests
• Never shared with third parties
• Deleted when you disconnect or uninstall

Product Screenshots

• Sent via HTTPS to OpenAI Vision API for text extraction
• Processed by OpenAI's GPT-4o model
• Subject to OpenAI's privacy policy: https://openai.com/privacy
• Not stored by us or OpenAI after processing

Product Data

• Saved to your PriceIQ account (Supabase database)
• Subject to PriceIQ's main privacy policy
• You can review and edit before importing; after import, you can view or delete in PriceIQ

Third-Party Services

Data Security

• All API requests use HTTPS encryption
• Authentication tokens stored in chrome.storage.local (encrypted by Chrome)
• No data transmitted to unauthorized third parties
• No permanent storage of screenshots

Your Rights

• Access: View all imported products in your PriceIQ account
• Delete: Remove products individually or delete entire account
• Disconnect: Revoke extension access anytime via popup
• Uninstall: Remove extension to delete all stored tokens

Note: Product data cannot be edited after import. Delete and re-import if corrections are needed.

Data Deletion

When you disconnect:

• Authentication tokens deleted from chrome.storage
• Extension cannot access your account

When you uninstall:

• All extension data deleted from your browser
• Product data remains in PriceIQ account (you control)

When you delete PriceIQ account:

• All product data permanently deleted
• Cannot be recovered

Children's Privacy

Extension is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted with new "Last Updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
